LISA STEAD - ABSTRACT ARTIST

Hi there, I’m Lisa Stead, A Canadian abstract artist! WELCOME to my little piece of the internet! Here you can browse available works, learn more about me and see upcoming events, but first a quick bit about me on a more personal level!

I’ve always loved creating! My earliest memories are filled with a need to express myself artistically. As a child, it was recognized quite early that I was blessed with a creative calling. Always rebelling against the limitations of traditional art teachings and leading with my imagination. I believe in a place where a tree can be blue and colouring outside the lines is where the magic starts. Over the years my creativity has taken on many forms but one consistency has always been the love of painting and using mixed media to experiment.

I am constantly evolving and pushing the boundaries to define myself through my visual art. Each collection and the ones that follow are a reflection of those changes. In an attempt to have a “real career” and comfort my parents, I studied graphic design and photography years ago. You’ll notice they have had a heavy influence on my work and the way I create. I love the use of shape, colour and line in my compositions. For me, abstract artwork allows an unrestricted approach, relinquishing control to my tools so emotion and energy can lead the way intuitively.
